Mah Shlomech? (mah sh-loh-mehch). This Hebrew phrase translated literally to mean "How is your peace?" My second lovely niece had her naming ceremony last night, the Jewish equivalent to a baptism. The rabbi discussed her feelings on the depth of this phrase and it made me ponder the state of my own peace. Lately, as I do quite often in the middle of any given semester of grad school, I feel uber stressed. And much like a hamster running on it's squeaky wheel, I am ridiculously over committed. But honestly, seeing your father, mother, and 3 year old niece wash the feet of your 12 month old niece puts a lot right with your world. So my peace? My peace is good. My peace is so very good today.
